Walkie truck, also known as the pallet truck and electric hand truck is a small and versatile machine used for ground level order picking process, quick loading & offloading and for moving goods in and around a warehouse facility. Walkie trucks vary from small walk only versions to double length ride-on ones, complete with speed boosters.Walkie trucks come from a range of manufacturers such as Raymond, Yale, Clark and Crown, with the same basic mechanism but differing in control placements. These are electrically powered trucks. The basic principle being the same, an operator trained on one type of walkie truck can adapt to any other type effortlessly.
Even though walkie trucks may seem harmless owing to their small size and simple mechanism, the safety guidelines must never be overlooked. Operators are exposed to dangers in the absence of a protective operator’s compartment and therefore, they should be thoroughly trained in the proper working of a walkie truck which includes mechanisms of working, probable dangers and the safety guidelines to follow while operating a walkie truck. This will ensure a safe working environment and better productivity.
Our walkie truck training & certification course instructs the operator regarding proper care and maintenance of the battery.
