Scissor lift Training
Scissorlifts are a component of aerial work platform family of warehouse equipments. These machines are used in warehouses, construction sites and many other industries owing to their versatile designs and applicability, ranging from running electrical wiring, telephone and computer lines to being used for maintenance duties and for maintaining inventory as well. Scissorlifts are used to access high areas comfortably and safely.
Some of the notable manufacturers of scissorlifts are Skyjack, Genie, Skytrack and Snorkel. The other members of aerial work platforms family consists of smaller versions of a scissorlift, consisting of Man Up, Boom Lifts, Trailer Mounted Booms and Self Propelled Booms.
Scissor lifts come in both varieties, the electrically powered ones as well as the propane and diesel powered ones. The basic principle being the same, an operator trained on one type of scissorlift can adapt to any other type effortlessly.
Scissor lifts are not difficult to operate and function on relatively slower speeds as compared to other lift machines such as forklifts. The main function of aerial work platforms is to lift an operator to a specific height and back. Their slow traveling speeds add to them being relatively safer for the passer bys. But there are some concerns regarding safety of operator.
In aerial work platforms, workers are required to operate at greater heights. Therefore, Ministry of Labour mandates an operator working at heights to receive a formal certification in Fall arrest training as well.
Our scissorlift training course instructs the participants about proper operation of aerial work platforms, pre-operational safety check, importance of safety harness and compliance to safety guidelines.
